Publisher: Viking, p2006, c2006
ISBN-13: 978-0-670-05964-5
Interest/Reading Level: 3-6/5.6

Book Summary:
While other girls might like dolls and tea-parties, our little Julia loves to jump, chase, and build! Watching her father as an engineer, Julia dreams of knowing how every aspect of building comes together. This biography picture book follows the partial story of Julia's education, her trials, and her accomplishments.  Young readers will love the travels from Europe to the US, and how Julia shows that girls can do anything when they work hard for it!

My Thoughts:
This is a delightful little book. The almost smugged feel of the painted illustrations give the story a soft almost whimsical feel to it, with the story trucks on with Julia's vibrant determination.  This is an excellent read for a study of biographies, discussions about future careers, and woman's rights.
